Conventional shipping containers may be padlocked but the facility is not by any means secure, as generally loaded shipping containers, when not in road or rail transit, are held in very secure security compounds and has the necessity to be secure. The only requirement being a small Customs seal which only identifies tampering has taken place.

. .

To make a container more secure we recommend the attachment of a lock box.

This is attached to the right hand door and when door closed covers the staple lug, which is welded to the Left hand door.

. .

This is then only accessible from the underside of the lock box.

A CISA shutter padlock is then used to secure the doors. The key aperture within the lock is accessed also from the underside.

.

This method of security has proved to be satisfactory in the majority of cases, detering all but the most determined villains.
